Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information AutoDrive/Z collects through this website, why, how long it is kept and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read, not to protect us.
Who is responsible
AutoDrive/Z is a trading name of Zach Johnson, a sole trader, who is the data controller for this site. For anything in this notice, including a request to see or delete your data, write to custom.solutions@autodrivez.co.uk. A correspondence address is available on request and is given in writing before any engagement begins.
What we collect, and why

We do not use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking of any kind. There is no Google Analytics on this site, no Meta or LinkedIn pixel, and nothing that follows you to other websites. We do not sell or share your information with anyone for their own purposes.
Our lawful basis
- Legitimate interests for replying to business enquiries, deciding portfolio access, keeping the site secure and keeping an accountable record of who has seen confidential material. You can object to this at any time.
- Contract where we go on to work together and the information is needed to deliver that work.
- Legal obligation where records must be kept, for example for tax.
Cookies
This site sets three cookies. All three are strictly necessary, which is why you are not asked to consent to them. None is used for advertising or analysis.

Who else is involved
The site and its email are hosted by IONOS in the United Kingdom. IONOS processes the information only to provide that hosting.
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. Doing so sends your IP address to Google, which may process it outside the United Kingdom. This is the only third party your browser contacts when using this site, and we are moving to serving the fonts from our own server to remove it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: two years from your last contact with us, then deleted.
- Portfolio access requests that are declined: twelve months, so we know a decision was made.
- Portfolio accounts: until you ask us to remove yours, or two years after your last sign-in.
- Server and access logs: rotated once they reach two megabytes; only the current and previous file are held.
- Records relating to paid work: as long as tax and professional obligations require, normally six years.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or object to us holding it. You can also ask for it in a portable form. Write to custom.solutions@autodrivez.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Security
The portfolio is protected by signed session cookies, one-time sign-in links that are stored hashed, password hashing, cross-site request forgery protection and rate limiting. Confidential project material is stored outside the public web directory and is only ever served after a signed-in check.
Changes
If this notice changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting people who already have a portfolio account will be sent by email.
